Schism, İngiliz dilinde bölünme, parçalara ayrılma, hizipleşme gibi anlamlara gelir(miş). Schedule kelimesinin de bununla alakası var bir şekilde.

The notion is of slips of paper attached to a document as an appendix (a sense maintained in U.S. tax forms).
